Get to Know Us

ABC is improving consumer experiences and health outcomes for marginalized groups facing implicit bias by addressing barriers to health equity, using data-driven technology, consumer awareness, self-advocacy, and increasing effective interventions while reducing costs for companies, insurance carriers, and providers.

ABC’s innovation includes creating W3C-verified software, a database, and an app to accommodate blind consumers and others with preferences for voice input. By owning the software, ABC provides access and flexibility to consumers regardless of their payer source or provider.

We aim to increase the use of ABC’s self-input mobile-friendly database and health technologies such as patient portals, wearable trackers or smartwatches, continuous glucose monitors, and personal EKG devices to provide data for effective treatment and life-saving interventions.

ABC realized that over 20 years of serving the community, self-monitoring increased positive lifestyle changes. ABC enrolled 1000 participants in two years for an American Heart Association grant with access to a blood pressure tracking database. The technology provided a tool for patients with data in real-time on their phones to share with doctors. Armed with data, the conversation changed.  The doctors used the data to modify ineffective treatment plans. prescriptions or dosages. The downside was that the database needed to be ADA-compatible and had limited fields, and once the funding cycle ended, so did access to the tool for ABC and its clients.

ABC seeks technical support and funding through grants, donations, and crowdsourcing for a data architect, software developer, iterations, testing, technical support, and maintenance. We invite you to consider supporting us as ABC leverages technology to change conversations with providers to improve health outcomes for marginalized individuals.
